Our clients, a professional family with two young children, wanted a modern new home that could adapt to their growing needs. Their vision was clear: a residence that combined luxury with practicality. They dreamed of updated bathrooms with a spa-like feel, a custom-designed kitchen that seamlessly connected to the outdoors, and versatile living spaces perfect for entertaining family and friends.

Design Vision

Our design approach focused on creating a home that balances sophistication with family-friendly functionality. Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms were carefully planned to give both parents and children comfort and privacy, while an open-plan layout was introduced to maximise floor space and create a light-filled, connected environment. The result is a home that feels expansive yet cohesive, supporting both everyday family life and larger gatherings.

Key Features of the Project

Luxurious Bathrooms – Each bathroom was designed to be both practical and indulgent. Large spaces with custom joinery and underfloor heating created a sense of comfort and luxury. Every detail was tailored to suit the family’s lifestyle, blending durability with refined finishes.

Custom Entertainer’s Kitchen – The heart of the home is its kitchen, a spacious, bespoke design featuring premium materials and high-end appliances. Built with entertaining in mind, the layout allows for seamless movement between cooking, dining, and socialising, while opening directly to the outdoor living area.

Indoor-Outdoor Flow – To embrace Sydney’s climate and the family’s love of entertaining, we created a strong connection between indoors and outdoors. Expansive openings allow the living and kitchen areas to spill out to the exterior spaces, perfect for gatherings and relaxed family time.

Challenges and Solutions – Renovating in Sydney’s Inner West always comes with complexities, and this project was no exception. Strict heritage controls guided our design decisions, requiring us to respect the local character while modernising the home. During construction, structural problems with the existing roof were uncovered, preventing demolition and demanding careful remediation. We also encountered significant site challenges, including a blocked sewer and stormwater system that had to be completely redone, as well as the safe removal of asbestos. Each obstacle was met with tailored solutions to ensure the integrity and safety of the build without compromising on design.

The Result

The finished home is a modern sanctuary perfectly suited to a growing family. Luxurious bathrooms, abundant custom joinery, and a stunning entertainer’s kitchen elevate the everyday living experience. With its seamless flow between indoors and out, the home now feels open, welcoming, and future-proofed for years to come.
