The moving process can be stressful if left until the last minute and not planned properly. Organising your move in advance will ensure that there are no start delays or unnecessary stresses leading up to the construction phase of your project.
Here are 3 things to consider:

01

If you plan to rent another property while your project is taking place it is important to start this process as soon as possible. It is likely that finding the right rental property will take you between 4-6 weeks. Even if you find the right property sooner, not every property listed online is available for immediate rental. Often there is a delay of a few weeks before you can actually move in.

02

You will want to do your spring cleaning during this move process and throw away anything you no longer want or need. You don’t want to move the things you don’t need to your rental property and then back into your newly renovated or built home. This will cause moving delays and could result in extra removalist costs. Give yourself plenty of time to organise what you are taking and what you are not.

03

Keep your cash flow in mind. For as long as your property is under renovation, you will be paying both your rent and your mortgage. You want to make sure you don’t pay rent for longer than you have to. Coordinate your rental start date to be as close to your construction start date as possible.
