A Heritage Family Home Reimagined for Modern Living
A heritage renovation in Mosman that combined traditional detailing with a modern kitchen, living spaces and bathrooms, later featured in House & Garden magazine.
The Brief
The goal was to update a heritage home in Mosman for family life, introducing a modern kitchen, living spaces and bathrooms while retaining the home’s traditional proportions and detailing.

WHAT WE DID
Construction Concierge facilitated the design and construction team the project needed to update the home while retaining its heritage character.
We facilitated the design team for the project and provided ongoing support as they developed the kitchen, living and dining spaces, working with a palette of custom joinery, natural stone and heritage-appropriate detailing to retain the home’s traditional proportions while introducing a contemporary sensibility.
When the design moved into construction, we facilitated the build team and provided ongoing support through the kitchen renovation, the multiple bathroom renovations, and the outdoor renovation and landscaping.
Throughout the project, the clients had guidance across every stage, from early design decisions through to the finished result, while we helped keep the design and construction teams working towards the same outcome.
The Outcome
The result is a Mosman home that retains its heritage character while functioning as a modern family home, with an updated kitchen, living spaces, bathrooms and outdoor area.
The heritage detailing and proportions were preserved, while custom joinery, updated finishes and a considered material palette brought the home into the present. The project was later featured in House & Garden magazine, recognised for its balance of heritage character and contemporary family living.
THE TAKEAWAY
A heritage home does not have to mean choosing between honouring its history and updating it for modern family life.
It means the design needs to respect what’s original while introducing what’s needed, and who’s coordinating that balance matters even more.
